The Process

New Websites: If you haven't had a website and are looking forward to having a web presence, let's get started. The very first thing is for us to have a conversation, either by phone, zoom or email. This is important to me so that I can understand the vision you have as to what you want to communicate through your website.
Questions to ask yourself: Do you want a store, a blog, a group site, a business site, membership site, a site about your own journey, a travel site - as you can see the options are limitless. So it's good to get the basics sorted out at the beginning. There will always be room for changes and additions, always are 😊.
Are you ready for a website? Do you have good high resolution photos, the size, materials, descriptions ready to be added to your site? In order to move ahead quickly with the completion of your website, please have the things you want on your site ready to send to me.
This means having your images identified by number and have a word document with the numbers relating to the image and the text you want by a particular image: i.e. #1 "Iris" 6" x 6", slate, marble, stained glass (and if there is a story or poem etc.) All the images in a particular category should be separated this way to send to me.
In order to keep things moving, we'll set up a deadline for the completion of your website. This deadline will be not more than 3 weeks (we can be flexible with this as long as there is continuous work on the site, or a reasonable, reason for stopping the work.)
For a New Website:
-
You'll need a domain name. (This is the url and what people put in the search bar to find you) I recommend that you use your name in the domain (http://www.yourname.com) (I recommend namecheap they are easy to work with and will help you transfer your domain to the web platform you choose - we'll talk about that later). If you already have a domain we can easily point it to your new site.
-
If you choose to work with me your choices of hosting platfroms are either "Weeby" or "Wix" (The hosting platform is where I'll build the website)
Your part:
To get started you will need to have your images and text ready to go.
-
Content for the pages of your website: please make sure that the grammar and punctuation are correct in any content you want on the site.
-
If you're having a gallery I'll need images, with title material, size and any comments you want to make about the image, as described above.
-
You will need to do all the SEO (Search Engine Optimization) set up. This process is explained on the dashboard of your website, through Utube videos or during the tutorial, when I'll be showing you where you can add this text to your website.
My Part:
-
Once the domain is acquired and the hosting platform for the website is selected - my work begins.
-
Setting up (by me with your approval) the design, pages, galleries etc. This part requires your time so that you can let me know what you like and what you would like to have changed on the pages I'm creating.
-
Creating the pages that will beautifully display your content, images, forms, etc.
-
Working with the tech. people to resolve issues that may come up (they always do)
-
Making sure your website looks good on all devices.
-
Transferring your domain to the platform host.
